Volunteer at The Caldwell Idaho Orchards - Thinning Peach Trees!
Starting now until May 29th, Monday through Saturday. Pick a day and come anytime. We are thinning peaches, so it gives the fruit on the tree room to grow into big, beautiful fruit. If we don’t thin the fruit, the fruit will stay small like golf balls and not be usable. We harvest about 1 million pounds of peaches with volunteers helping every year. The peaches go to the Garden City cannery to be canned and then are distributed to local food pantries and all across the country.
Orchard Volunteer Hours:
Monday and Saturday --- Sun-up until Noon
Tuesday through Friday --- Sun-up until Sun-down
When you get to the orchard please text 775-484-9281 and someone will come meet you for more directions. If you have some time and want to be part of something special, this is the place. Bring friends and family, businesses and faith groups and come make a difference.
